Factory Options: Sports front seats, Touchtronic transmission, satin finish aluminium pedal pads, aluminium heater controls, carbon fibre interior, large bore tail pipe finishers, Tracker Horizon.
This timeless and elegant 2+2 coupe is finished in favoured Skye Silver which has a near flawless finish and deep gloss shine thanks to indoor pampered ownership from new. All trim, chrome, rubbers and badges factory fresh. A few tiny stone chips to the bonnet are barely visible and do not detract from the stunning overall appearance. Wheel arch apertures are spotlessly clean revealing fair weather use only as does lifting the fuel filler cap to reveal the bright aluminium screw top proudly displaying the Aston Martin logo. Harmonious proportions and recognisable Aston Martin design traits make this model a modern classic now being sought by connoisseurs just as the DB6 and previous DB models have been in years passed.
Desirable and optional Sport front seats are trimmed in superb Charcoal Connolly leather providing extended contours for improved support and perforations to the inner leather for cooling. This option also provides perforated inner panels on the rear seats all in unworn condition. The Charcoal carpets have been protected by Aston Martin carpet mats from new and the parchment Alcantara head lining is unmarked. Wonderful detail extends to the illuminated starter button and desirable factory options and accessories such as the satin finish aluminium pedal pads, aluminium heater controls, and carbon fibre interior. The boot area is spotless. Exquisite in every respect and honed by craftsman.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The DB7 Vantage was a new engine and the first in Aston Martins history to use 12 cylinders. It used advanced computer aided design and engineering techniques coupled with extensive use of high grade aluminium alloys for strength and lightweight features. Hand built engine number 02174 had a final inspection by Kevin Wild at Kidlington and produces 420bhp, enough for a top speed of 165mph and 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds. The desirable and optional Touchtronic automatic transmission allows instantaneous and seamless gear changes to be made at a touch of a button. There are a choice of three electronically controlled operating modes enabling the driver to select either standard automatic, Sport automatic or sequential manual mode. The perfect combination.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Lightweight alloy road wheels have unmarked edges and perfect Aston Martin centre caps but do have two tiny chips touched in by the conscientious owner and barely visible. Bridgestone SO2 tyres measuring 245/40 ZR18 front and 265/35 ZR18 rears are factory correct with ample tread. Massive ventilated cross-drilled discs with aluminium four piston calipers combine with four channel electronic ABS to provide immense stopping power.
Just 4,156 DB7 Vantage Coupe and Volante models were produced at the Bloxham plant previously used to hand build the Jaguar XJ220. The Vantage is synonymous with the most powerful Aston Martins in the range and this example was supplied by Aston Martins Sales of Mayfair on the 23rd July 2001 to Mr Linstead. With just three former keepers since, upmost care and devotion is witnessed with no less than 14 Main Dealer stamped entries in the original service book to warrant the 38,553 miles covered. Literature relating to the Aston Martin Owners Club are signs of enthusiast ownership and the current custodian has a stable of some 24 classic cars now wanting to downsize to a more manageable number. All handbooks, spare keys and a bundle of MOT certificates and invoices are included. The original sales brochure and new car warranty booklet is present. This stunning car will be suitable for the discerning enthusiast thoughtful on spotting a classic in the making.
