This 1965 RHD Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti with only 55,000 miles & 2 previous owners was a barn-find, discovered in an Oxfordshire barn about 8 years ago. We (Ian Ellis Classic Alfas) have sympathetically restored it, including a colour change from verde muschio to grigio grafite (graphite grey) - a superb combination with the tan original, much of which is original. The 1600 twin-cam engine was completely rebuilt including new pistons & liners, bearings, chains, valves & guides. The single Solex carb has been replaced by a single Weber. The suspension & Dunlop braking system have been thoroughly overhauled, the original 15" rims refurbished & new Vredestein tyres fitted in the correct period size of 155 x 15". New door & boot seals fitted. The bumpers, being chrome on this early car were re-chromed at great expense by ACF Howell & look amazing! A near-new grille was sourced from Italy & NOS Carello indicator spears fitted to the front wings. A bespoke set of grey carpets has been fitted, incorporating the original style rubber heel mats. Being a 1965 car, no seat belts were ever fitted to the car.
Only a handful of these first series Giulia saloons still exist in the UK (probably no more than 5 - I've only seen 1 other!) - Alfa aficionados know that the Giulia saloons are the best driving cars of the 105 range...
The car was bought new in Italy in 1969 by the only one owner. He kept the car until we bought it in July 2012.
The car has been restored in 1997/1998 ( a total cost of 20.000.000 Lires) and covered since only 11.650 kms.
The engine was redone in December 2012 (crankshaft, valves, bearings, rings .....
