1970 C GT - Barons Sandown Pk Tuesday 11th December 2018 For Sale by Auction
The MGC GT offered here is described by the vendor as a great car that drives very well, with an excellent engine, gear box and overdrive. The car benefited from a body restoration in 2010 which included a new near side front wing, and has held up very well. This MGC also said to benefit from a Downton cylinder head and triple SU Carburettors which give superb performance and sounds great. We have driven this car and can confirm that the car looks great, sounds great and drives without fault. A new brake servo, new front calipers and brake pads have recently been fitted, the original steering rack has been overhauled, new Gaz adjustable shock absorbers and polyurethane bushes have been fitted to the front suspension. The car has also recently been fitted with a Revotech fan, replacing the previously fitted electric fan, which is working well. The car sits on the correct steel wheels with new chrome trims, has the original leather bound steering wheel, original seat belts and the leather seats have a good patina.
This is a very late example, that is a University Motors car, which is showing 77, 000 miles which is believed, but also not warranted. With only 4 owners from new, this is a rare chance to own a good useable and rare classic that can be driven comfortably in modern traffic. Over 500, 000 MGBs were built in total, of these only 4, 457 were MGC GTs. A rare and desirable MG, which comes with a Heritage Certificate.
