1966 MGB GT. MINERAL BLUE. VERY EARLY GT BUILT IN 1965. 3 OWNERS ONLY. FANTASTIC CAR WITH UPGRADES.
This car is a very early GHD3 GT being made in 1965. It was first registered 21/6/66. It came out the factory in Mineral Blue with wire wheels and overdrive. It has had only 3 owners from new (all in the South East) with the last owner keeping it for the last 18 years. It is now tax and MOT exempt but the owner has had it MOT'd every year (current one till Feb 2019 and no advisories) and there are 24 old MOT's in the large history file. The file has invoices for the car from 1979 and shows that over £26,000 has been spent keeping the car in top order with regular servicing and upkeep. The car was restored and painted by the previous owner in the 90's and it has stood the test of time.
Current owner 18 years; - garaged (Dry weather car). MOT until Feb. 2019. Classic car tax exempt.
Lazerline 288 Alarm system; under dash JVC Radio/CD player (original radio remains in car for visual affect, together with original speaker unit, which now houses one of two speakers). The other speaker is mounted on the passenger side. New 45D Distributor; new petrol tank and electronic fuel pump; alternator conversion; new Kenlowe fan separately dashboard switched for additional cooling; modern canister oil filter; oil cooler; re-con gearbox and overdrive unit; all fitted in 2001 (Overdrive and Kenlowe fan are separately relay protected) Ivor Searle re-con. unleaded engine and clutch and twin brand new carbs. fitted in 2007 only 12000 miles ago. New radiator, new water pump; new stainless steel exhaust system, new steering rack, new track rod ends, all fitted in 2007. New needle roller bearing kingpin set; new front coil springs with adjustable Spax shocks upgrade; new parabolic rear suspension adjustable Spax shocks all fitted in 2010 making for a modern car feel. Lumenition new ignition coil and HT Lead set all fitted in 2012. Original body in very good condition; underside well waxed including rear wheel arches. Engine bay well ordered. 4 x alloy Centre Lock wheels fitted with new Yokohama tubeless tyres all purchased in 2012; Same wheel/tyre purchased as spare in 2018. new single high capacity 12 volt battery, and new alternator and fan belt all fitted October 2013. New clutch slave cylinder fitted January 2015 Re-upholstered leather front seats with headrests and extra lumber support fitted in February 2015. new Inertia seat belts fitted in February 2015. Internal door fittings renewed, including risers, runners and rubber seals November 2015. New oval middle stainless steel exhaust box fitted to replace bullet exhaust box 22.6.2016. Full restoration required for this early and quite rare MK1 GT. Castle sections and sills are good, comes with original aluminium bonnet and interior, non overdrive gearbox.
