Here we have for sale my 1981 MGB roadster -
4 speed with OD on 3rd/4th. I bought the car almost a year ago from a collector who had it sat in his garage, amongst other MGB's.
I bought it with the intention of recommissioning it and converting it to the more desiraable chrome bumper version.
When I bought the car it really needed a freshen up of the major components and a good going over cosmetically. So I decided to start at the bottom and work my way up.
I began with a full service of the consumables for peace of mind - Oils, filters, plugs etc... To make the most of the 1800cc engine I have replaced the fuel pump and had the engine and twin SU carb serviced and tuned professionally. Once the the foundations were sorted, I moved onto the aesthetics. The cars bodywork whilst original, looked tired. So I decided to have the body work stripped, sorted and resprayed in the factory original Vermillion. At the same time I had the car professionally fitted with a chrome bumper conversion (this is not as simple or as cheap as it perhaps sounds). The car now looks amazing and is basically blemish free - As the hood was already in excellent condition I decided to leave it as is.
Now the car is looking and running brilliantly I decided to address the interior, which was not really to my liking. I replaced the carpets with a pre-cut kit in beige, and at the same time I replaced all the interior plastics and door cards with black period correct items.
I bought the car really as something to tinker with over last winter and enjoy through out the summer, but at 67yrs old I am now seeking something I can enjoy year round with extra comfort, so unfortunately it is time to sell her.
The original rubber bumpers are available and are included, if required.
Refurbished Minator rims with new tyres are available by seperate negotiation.
