We are pleased to be able to offer this well known Jensen FF for a commissioned sale on behalf of the current owner. We were lucky enough to have sold this car some two and a half years ago on behalf of the then owner.
The current owner has enjoyed his time with the FF but now requires a change of classic car and has entrusted us to broker this deal on his behalf.
When the car was delivered here, it was like an old friend coming home. Indeed, I have personally known this car for the past 13 years. The car had a substantial restoration in 2008, lasting six years with the well known CH Autos and the restoration was fully detailed on the Jensen Owners’ Club forum.
It is presented today in its original colour scheme of Silver Grey with Red interior trim, a combination that works particularly well especially with the full chrome Rostyle wheels.
DVLA shows 4 previous owners although there may be another two owners shown on factory records but not recorded by the DVLA.
Originally bought in 1971 by G.F Benham, M.D of Crayford Carpet and Furniture Centres from Guy Salmon Ltd, he then sold the car in 1973. Barry Waite bought the car in April 1977 and then sold it to Ray McGhee in December 1987 at which point it has 44,000 miles.
The previous owner bought the car in December 2003 with 62,000 miles.
The car was then used all over Europe including travelling 2,500 miles in two weeks down to Switzerland and back. During this time the car had been serviced regularly with upgrades such as alloy heads, metal timing sprocket and chain.
FJJ 9J was taken off the road for bodywork in late 2008; with the work being done by Colin Holley (CH Autos) the only person trusted to replace the chassis tubes on the car. This must be the most solid FF available!
The body was far worse than imagined and many of the panels needed significant repair or replacement. The car was back on the road in October 2014, having had mechanical work including front suspension and gearbox, as well as a newly refurbished air conditioning system and a sympathetically refurbished interior.
Subsequently, the car was used on a number of JOC events including a trip to Ypres in Belgium and the Dutch Jensen club’s autumn event in Luxembourg.
The car is very well known in the Jensen community having been on the JOC stand at Techno Classica Essen and also featured in James Blunt’s Three Wise Men video. Post restoration, the car was selected to appear on the Jensen Owners’ Club stand at the 2015 NEC Classic Car Show.
The current owner bought this FF through ourselves in May 2016 and has enjoyed the car, touring the UK and the continent. During his ownership he has had a new alloy radiator fitted and more recently a new alternator.
The car has 11 pages dedicated to it in Ulric Woodhams book ‘Jensen FF - 320 Short Stories’.
This is the best available Jensen FF offered for sale worldwide.
