1978 mk1 mitsibushi colt sapporo fully restored For Sale
hi, I'm trying to loose a few cars and so am advertising this one- although i know I'm going to regret listing this colt!
right, so its a 1978 colt sapporo gsr model. there is only a handfull of these left in the uk and fewer on the roads. it was a very rare car to stumble across and i know i wont find another if i do let this one go.
this car has been very well looked after all its life, i am actualy only the 3rd owner! the first owner i have come to learn was a photographer, Bill Orchard, he worked with some of the big names in the music industry, and this car has actualy had many famous people riding in it, such as Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Blondie, David Bowie, Lulu..... interesting bit of history!
i have owened it for a couple of years and have put it through a full restoration. the car was very solid, but did need some repairs and fabrication to the door bottoms and cill ends. after the minor welding was completed the car had a full respray in an original blue metalic for a colt. the car was previously a red/ brown colour and has been changed over on the v5c.
this colour realy sets the car off and looks the part now. the car had a full respray with doors off, engine bay and boot area have all been done too.
interior, well its all original and i would go as far as saying immaculate after a clean, apart from one scuff/rip on the drivers seat boulster area. i would be looking to get this repaired if i can.
the engine is the standard 2 litre lump with twin carbs. it sounds good, runs good, drives well and handles great. these realy are nippy cars, loads of acceleration and it will get over the 100mph mark with ease- unlike most 70's cars!
so all in all a great classic. loads of charm, charactor, and actualy was well ahead of its time. the Jap stuff realy is getting reare and collectable now.
the car will be fully mot'd if it sells. will be tax and mot exempt though.
any questions or for pics do get in touch and email me.
