The modifications required to earn an M3 a CSL badge are legion. Alongside that engine and all the carbon fibre comes revised suspension, modified brakes, quicker steering and a paddle-operated gearbox capable of swapping one cog for another in 0.08sec or, to put it another way, three times faster than you. Inside, racing seats ensure your body can withstand 1.5G of lateral acceleration without depositing you on your passenger.
The CSL is one of the most hard-core supercars ever sold. Various buttons allow you to choose the speed of the gear change, sharpen the throttle response, disable the stability control or program it for the race track. Like many things that are bad for you, the CSL is addictive — it possesses a focus that, of its ilk, only Porsche’s more expensive GT3 would recognise. Its non-negotiable demand for your undivided attention can make every departure an occasion, every journey an adventure, every arrival an event. It’s also rare, beautiful and FANTASTICALLY engineered.
I have known this particular car since the 2nd owner purchased it from Vines BMW in 2004 with 12,000. This serious M3 enthusiast took it home and parked in his garage alongside his E30 M3 Ravaglia. He considered this the ultimate pair of M3s. They were going to be kept forever but a work move to the States in 2013 meant I was set the task of finding these two M3s new homes. Both cars where utterly stunning and it took us little time to find new owners. Since us selling the car in 2013 the car has covered another 5,000 miles. The car was sold to a further two collectors over the last 5 years and is now back with us to find the next lucky owner.
This stunning example was first registered 1st November 2002 and has covered only 49,000 miles in the hands of just five owners. This car is in stunning original condition and has never been used for track days. It comes with all the original tools, handbooks, manuals and a 100% complete service history from new all stamped in the original service book. This is supported by a lovely document file.
