Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 with 124,603 miles (will increase), partial service history with 2 keys.
Registered May 2005 and first used by the police, quite a cool photo online of it full livery if you search the reg. Maintained meticulously as with any service vehicle, the police provide the new owners with a print out of the vehicles service and callout log which shows service history up to 90,521 miles (print out shows they owned it until 99, 482 unsure whether they serviced it before sale) and various times it was put into the work shop. It was then bought by a dealer in 2013 who sold it to a local outdoor adventure company who used it to ferry staff around their site and then to me in 2017.
I bought it with 114,000 miles and have put 10,000 faultless miles on it in my year of ownership. MOT until March but with no advisories and preventative maintenance see no issues, can put it through for a full 12 month ticket if asking price is met. I do a full service every 3,000 miles including all filters and oils and setting injector clearances. In that year I have:
1. Installed a larger cold cranking battery that starts first turn instantly every time.
2. Added 3mm black chequer plate to wing tops
3. Added LED sidelights and indicators (including number plate lights, fog light and reverse)
4. Full 20% privacy glass (excluding the rear heated window)
5. Black powder coated Boost Alloys (and a new take off spare in silver) all with great tread
6. Bespoke soft leather cubby box with genuine cup holder insert
7. Valeo DMF and clutch kit including new flywheel bolts
8. OEM Rear Main Seal
9. Genuine steering damper 1000miles ago
10. Installed genuine rubber bumper caps
11. Bought genuine front and rear anti-roll bars but never fitted that will come with it
12. New expansion tank cap
13. New turbo to exhaust studs nuts and gasket
14. New front swivel seals
15. New OEM cylinder head plug
16. Replaced idler pulley bearing with Timken bearing
17. EGR delete (EGR that came off will come with car)
18. New rocker cover gasket
I have just completed a trip to Bruges, before I left I put in a Valeo (OEM) flywheel and clutch kit and over the 1000 mile trip it performed faultless. Whilst that was out I also replaced the rear main oil seal. When I bought it, I took it to Chris Hill in Bristol (LR Specialist) for a health check and the only thing he said needed doing was the clutch and DMF so now come full circle.
The chassis is mint. And I mean mint, never been welded doesn’t need any welding, no blubbing or starting to go anywhere, recently fully wax oiled the chassis and wheel wells ready for winter. Before coating you could see the original shiny paint on the outriggers (can still see it in the engine bay) honestly not seen a cleaner chassis on a Defender quite amazing seeing as its an 05.
The body is also really clean. The doors are perfect, no rust in the frames or bubbling coming through on the front and passenger doors they really are in great nick only issue is a small paint chip on the drivers door size about 5mm long and alone on door edge, rear is just starting to go but if caught now will last. Both the passenger and drivers wings were dented when I got it and never got round to replacing them. Just painted the roof rain channel which is a perfect paint match, however the roof will need doing. The paint is flaking off the roof, think its something to do with the police lights and markings on the roof (there are two plates on the roof where the lights used to be, standard police procedure apparently to cover the holes left).
Inside is standard spec, wind down windows and the bench seat in both passenger row and in the rear. Has however been fitted with the Exmoor trim seats throughout which are in amazing condition bar on small rip on the outside of the passenger seat. Every light and button works inside as it should. Heather blows nice and warm and the USB and AUX head unit sounds great out of the two dash mounted speakers. Downside in here is the middle headliner has begun to sag.
Overall a really clean and well looked after Defender.
Price is £14,000 which can be negotiated I know the value not just the price of these and what I have done but what also needs doing so I’m open to sensible offers. Would consider PX with cash my way or straight for the right thing. Looking to go M3, RS4 perhaps or even Skyline so open to sorted cars or projects in that area.
