1968 Mercedes 250 SL, Dark Maroon, Safety Interior For Sale

The w113 roadster is considered by marque enthusiasts as one of the most iconic Mercedes of all time. Its 250 SL version was produced between 1966 and 1968 and is the rarest of all representing only 12% of w113 production. It is regarded for its fine combination of elements of the earlier 230 SL and the later 280 SL. More specifically, it features the earlier 230SL's 2-piece wheel covers and sport suspension as well as a series of upgrades and features that were intially offered as options in the 250 SL that were later standardized in late production units and eventually in the 280 SL.
The 250 SL featured here was produced in 1968, only a few units before the end of production and incorporates all improvements made throughout the series, including the 'safety interior' and single piece wheel covers. In 2008 it was sourced in Colorado and selected for its impeccable matching of sophisticated Dark Maroon over the interior's beautiful interplay of shades of brown and beige. Once acquired it was subject to a no-expense spared set of repairs that entailed a total overhaul of the engine, a rebuilt of the front end as well as a restoration of the interior with maximum preservation of the original trim. It is currently offered fully serviced and in impeccable mechanical condition.
