1956 Willys Hotchkiss Jeep Paris built & WW2 parts For Sale
THIS HOTCHKISS JEEP IS NUMBER 066 FROM THE FIRST BATCH
VERY EARLY & VERY RARE
Theory has it that new old stock / left over WW2 Jeep parts were used to build the first batch of Hotchkiss at the Paris factory.
This Jeep is most likely one of these cars.
The cam cover, chassis and other little details are definitely different to post 1956 Stains factory built Hotchkiss.
Floor start, bonnet blocks, windscreen wipers etc etc
This is the fourth M201 I've owned in the past decade.
It's by far the best.
Having previously owned a "show car" (whose bodywork was regularly rubbed with Jonson's baby oil) I decided to search for the best "patinated" example I could find.
The well worn, weathered look of this car is wonderful.
Everyone loves it.
This car is very early with myriad early features.
It's 6 volt and was discovered on the estate of a historic Chateau in France.
Prior to me she was owned by the UK's leading classic Jeep dealer (for three years) as his personal car.
I have various emails from him confirming this is the best M201 he's ever driven.
It was then purchased by the UK's leading classic Land Rover dealer.
Again as his personal car.
This chap is very picky and certainly knows his onions.
In January 2018 leading Jeep specialist Jeffrey's Engineering in Kent went through this Jeep and gave it a good going over and service.
This cost over £1000.
You can read the invoice as I've photographed it.
Having previously owned a Jeep I was worried about using (in case it got dirty) my intention was to find a car I looked forward to using as much as possible.
A solid, reliable, honest, rust-free example that was totally sorted mechanically and bodily.
These days I much prefer patina to perfection so I wanted a car that looked well "used".
A proper classic Jeep.
This car ticks every box.
Since purchase I've had the underside professionally steam cleaned and waxoyled at considerable expense.
It starts on the button and goes extremely well.
I'm not sure there's anything that could be done to improve this car.
I drive it with the front screen down and never put the hood up.
That said, the hood is in excellent condition.
This is not your "average" Hotchkiss Jeep.
It's exceptional and exquisite in every respect.
If you're discerning and you're looking for a Jeep to cherish, enjoy and keep then this might well be what you're after.
I spent many months looking for this car.
I travelled far and wide looking at cars that were over-described and simply not good enough.
I wasted a vast amount of time and money travelling here, there and everywhere..
