We have great pleasure in offering this 'Limited Edition' MGB GT LE Coupe. 'Francis' was born in 1981 as a 1798cc coupe dressed in her distinctive & classic Pewter silver coat complete with contrasting black interior. Lovingly cared for by her previous custodians, most recently being a Doctor from 2002-2014 and currently a mature owner for the last 4 years. "A SOLID, ORIGINAL & STRAIGHT EXAMPLE". Lovely unmarked interior and unmarked roof lining. Carpets in great order. Hollandia tilt & slide sunroof. Superb original engine with clear clean oil. Oil pressure good and engine temperature sits nicely. "THOUSANDS £££££'s SPENT OVER THE YEARS". She starts on first turn of the key (with a bit of choke) and runs very well with 4 speed box complete with fully functioning overdrive in 3rd & 4th gears. She is presented with a MOT until May 2019 (NO ADVISORIES). Recent brake service including rear shoes and cylinders.

This GT LE Coupe version is finished in Pewter metallic with silver LE side stripes running the length of the car bodywork. Complimented with Stag style alloy wheels and front spoiler.

In September 1979 BL announced that their Abingdon factory, which had been turning out MGs since 1929, was due to close down at the end of the following year.
As a final swansong for the venerable MGB GT, now in its 14th year of production, a run out model called the LE (Limited Edition) was to be sold in small numbers. The first LE models rolled off the production lines in August 1980, differentiated by Pewter metallic paintwork, special alloy wheels and a front spoiler. By October it was all over for MG at Abingdon and the last two cars left Assembly Line A bound for the Gaydon Museum.
1 of just 580 GT LE’s produced to commemorate 50 years of production this particular LE was not registered until March 1981, most MG dealers taking considerable numbers of cars into stock to keep them busy while they waited for a replacement, although this wasn’t to arrive until 1995 in the form of the TF. The chassis number on this car confirms that it was made within the last few months of production.

In great useable order throughout ~ ready to use & enjoy!!! A true investment opportunity.!!
