1953 Land Rover series 1 80" original fire engine For Sale
This car was originally sold by Wiklunds Stockholm to the fire brigade in Årjäng, Värmland Sweden. It lived there until the beginning of the seventies, changed owner four times in the following years and ended up in august 1980 with the ownerfamily I bought it from when the owner passed away.
It still got its original instruction manual, both the english and the swedish one and an original workshop manual from the fifities.
The Landy only covered 22000 km since new and runs and drives fantastic, tight engine and gearbox, clutch, doors, steering etc. Its never been welded and does not need to be welded anywhere. Passed the swedish MOT 30 years to late last friday with compliments from the MOT-er.
I changed all the brakepipes, put on a new exhaust, painted the bonnet and rims, changed tyres galvanized the bumper, resealed the carb, changed the glass on the gauges and have been given it a thouroughly cleaning and service. Nothing more, nohing less. The paint got its bruises and scars but is in general in good condition considering it being a Landy.
The car is in untouched, unmolested original condition with all matching number, even the radiator and dynamo are the original ones.
Rear axle# 36111617
Front axle# 36135208
Radiator 9m 52
It still got the original Pegson fire pump complete with propshaft, the engines governor, oil cooler and the power take out on the second cross member. Unfortunately the control box that is supposed to me mounted on the right side of the pump is missing. I have one or two small bits of the fire hose but nothing else.
I have put a new Undercover cover canvas hood and sticks on it but it also comes with the full original hard top with door tops and catflap in excellent condition.
A worn phrase but a true survivor and time capsule.
Parked in Gothenburg Sweden.
