1972 Fiat Dino 2.4 Coupe fully restored, original colour, top con For Sale
The first owner of this fantastic took ownership of this fantastic Fiat Dino 2.4 Coupe in Koblenz, Germany on the 8th March 1972. This one just happens to be the top of range, second generation, 180 hp Dino with the 2.4 Ferrari engine, 3 carburetors and a ZF 5-speed gearbox. The reason why a Ferrari engine ended up in a Fiat stems from the fact that Ferrari wanted a 6-cylinder engine for the 1967 Formula 2 season and to meet with FIA`s homologation criteria, 500 engines in series needed to be built. Ferrari sought out Fiat and agreed to build the engines whilst Fiat supplied the cars. Whereas the 2.0 Dino was produced solely at Fiat plant, the 2.4 Dino`s went into production next to the Ferrari Dino 264 GT at Maranello. Ferrari built a total of 2,398 of Dino`s between `69 and `72. This Dino has been subject to a full restoration and mechanically rebuild. Shortly after this process the car was used for 5000 km after which it became part of a collection of Italian cars. The car was excellently maintained and only used sparingly. It has a fabulous ‘Blu Media’ finish with lovely black leather interior trim. The gorgeous bodywork has perfect fitting body panels. The chrome work glistens as new. The original Cromodora rims complete this perfect picture. This is very special Italian coupe with more than just a Ferrari heart!
