This is a 1961 Matchless G12 CSR, 650cc.
This bike has recently been restored and I list below just some of the work carried out:
The crankshaft has been reground and new shells fitted, New Main Bearings, Barrells rebored and new pistons and rings fitted, Camshaft Bushes adjusted to correct tolerance, new valves and Valves Springs fitted. Magneto fully reconditioned by Tony Cooper.
The Gearbox has had new quality bearings fitted together with new seals, gaskets and a sprocket.
The Carbretter has a new slide, new jets and needles.
The mudguards are supplied by AMC Classic Spares and are excellent reproductions of the originals.
The bike has been fully rewired, the Control Box has been reconditioned, the dynamo has had new bearings ( it works well and shows a charge ). I have wired in a “Dove” oil valve ( So the bike will not start with the oil shut off !! )
The wheel hubs have been stripped and bead blasted, rebuilt with relined brake shoes and laced to British chrome rims with Stainless nipples ( The wheel rims are stamped “Devon” and “Made in England” ), new quality tyres fitted.
All paint replaced together with new Chrome Petrol Tank Panels and also new petrol taps.
The Complete Exhaust system has been made in Stainless Steel.
Please note that the rear frame is CSR with the high pillion footrests and the oil tank has the froth tower, there is a damper fitted and also a sidestand.
The bike still bears its original and Transferable registration
