The car is a 1970 Lotus Elan +2S, it has twin Weber 40's.
The car is mechanically very sound and is used regularly. I've been to Le Mans and Spa in it and I find it is very comfortable for long journeys.
The car is an older restoration whichI was told was completed by the storeman at the Lotus factory.
I have owned the car for 13 years and in that time I have had the following work done (probably more)
Engine rebuilt (approx 8000 miles ago)
Mick Miller drive shafts fitted (replaces doughnut system)
The car was polybushed (where possible) 2 years ago
Inner seals replaced with Spyder cars galvanised units (these are what the seat belts mount on)
Facet fuel pump and fuel regulator fitted
Uprated air filter which attaches to existing airbox with turned aluminium billet made to fit the airbox (nice piece of kit)
Seats changed to earlier +2 seats which are slimmer than the later ones and much nicer in my opinion
New battery and starter motor fitted this summer
Roof painted and underside of body painted 5 years ago
Previous to my ownership the car has been fitted with a Lotus galvanised chassis. It also has a rare folding rear seat and chrome windscreen surround.
The paint has some microblistering and crazing/chips etc. It looks good when cleaned up but is not perfect. Most of the chrome is original but cleans up well.
The carpets aren't great (including in the boot)
I will add further info if I think of anything.
I would consider part exchange/swap for HSCC 60's or 70's Roadsports eligible car.
