1966 Award winning Austin Healey 3000 MK111 For Sale
My beautiful Austin Healey 3000 MK111 BJ8 phase 2 is reluctantly being offered for sale due to health issues.
It was first exported to Mobile USA, where it stayed until 1989 when it was repatriated.
In 1990 it underwent a complete body off nut and bolt restoration (by Autech Engineering)
In 1992 it was awarded 3rd at the Austin Healey club's National Concours at Stowe School.
The engine has been modified to fast road spec and gives massive torque due to the stage 2 tuned head with triple 2" SU carburettors, stainless sports exhaust (which sounds glorious) and a Dennis Welch DWR8 camshaft, all this enables the car to keep up with modern traffic making it pure joy to drive.Gearbox and overdrive are a delight also, as are the brakes which are very powerful.
In the early 2000's the car went to marque specialists Bill Rawles where it underwent a further body restoration, including uprated suspension and steering.
In the history file are invoices showing over £32000 being spent.
The car has retained its original colour of BRG with Black leather interior throughout its life and is very much admired wherever it goes, Last August it won best post war entry in a major car show in the West Country.
Since 1989, the car has only done 19422 miles, this is verified by the MOT's in the history file, which includes handbook, workshop manual, photographic record of restoration and the heritage certificate.
I have owned this fantastic car for almost 4 years and had intended to keep it for many more, but unfortunately due to back problems that will now not be possible, so it needs to go to a good home and to someone who will cherish it as I have.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
