1928 Voisin Type C7 en châssis For Sale by Auction

- Interesting model
- Excellent project base
- No reserve
In 1921, with the success of the imposing 4-liter, Gabriel Voisin launched a more accessible car, the C4 type, which saw immediate success. In the summer of 1924 the type C7 replaced the C4, powered by a Knight valveless 4-cylinder engine of 1550cc. The C7 chassis was worth 25,500 francs, half the price of a 4-liter equipped with front brakes, and could be delivered by the factory in either of four forms: bare chassis, sports roadster, city coupe, or sedan. Very beautiful bodies were designed on this chassis, including the very innovative "Lumineuse".
The chassis on offer came out of the factory in late 1927, with an unknown body shape. The car was registered in the Gironde region from 1951 and the registration document that comes with the car mentions a "flatbed" body in 1964. This is certainly a modification, very popular in the immediate aftermath of the war. Purchased in 1985 by its current owner, it is mechanically complete and still has its radiator, hood, firewall and dashboard. Two original step boxes come with the car. It is therefore an ideal base to revive one of the beautiful bodies that used to be fitted on this excellent chassis.
