wolseley 6/80 1954 V5C and buff log book, one old mot expired august 2008 one advisory, original reg number is transferable, I was told by the owners relative it was restored around the year 2000, when I bought the car it had been standing in the owners garage for 7-8 years due to his ill health, the car needed more than re-commissioning, after a short road test I took the car off the road to do the repairs as listed below
all rubber brake pipes replaced steel are in good condition
wheel cylinders replaced where required
two front drums replaced
new clutch all parts
new prop shaft seal
new silencer box
five new tyres
new dash switch knobs
all underside wire brush cleaned and sprayed with waxoil
all grease point done
radiator looks new must have been replaced by previous owner
the front seat bases were stripped and repaired from underneath

it now drives very well and no unwanted noises, carpets are good and dry, the engine has had a factory exchange unit fitted in its early life, it is painted blue which they were in them times although most were gold seal, it starts first turn, no overheating problems and the power it should have, gearbox is very good with smooth synchromesh and changes are as good as any modern car, all bodywork underneath is very good including sills, paintwork is good and shines well but it does have blemishes/blisters in places (I think it would look worse if touched up) the fuel gauge does not work shows empty, dashboard showing signs of age its loose on the ends/corners, indicators working off a stalk fitted to the steering column, rear window rubber is poor but does not leak, the chrome trim surround is with the car, bumpers showing light rust they would clean up better than they look at present, minor oil leak a couple of spots after a run when standing.
in all this is a good usable classic car, all major work has been done, only the paintwork to improve on at a later date, I am selling due to the fact I have owned another 680 for the last 38 years, its time I finished this restoration before its too late, any inspection or test drive welcome, I would consider a motorcycle in part exchange with cash either way, £5500 ono cash on collection tel 07488376119
