Triumph Dolly Sprint – Best Colour/Lovely Car
The Dolomite was a refined car but competitors such as the BMW 2002 had a performance advantage - to remedy this Triumph unveiled the Dolomite Sprint in 1973. The multi-valve OHC engine delivered 0-60mph in 8 seconds, a top speed just short of 120mph and excellent road manners. Add a luxury saloon body dressed in shrill 1970’s Triumph colours and wide alloys - this was the ultimate ‘Q’ car for the family man
Milestones are delighted to offer this lovely Mimosa Yellow Dolomite Sprint that was restored around 15 years ago and remains in outstanding condition today.
The bodywork is superb with stunning paint (no micro-blistering or corrosion) and underneath the chassis is very good - a light underseal was applied when restored and this has protected the car extremely well. The whole package is finished off with factory fit black vinyl roof and re-furbished original alloys that always draws comments when you park.
The interior is a superb place to be and boasts all the Dolomite refinements. The wooden dash/door caps, black valour seats, black carpets and roof lining all present well and there is a large history file going back to the 1980’s with lots of invoices, old MOT. Driver’s handbook, service manual etc.
On the road the Sprint drives as good as she looks with brisk acceleration, smooth engine/gearbox/brakes and handling that simply encourages to pull on the driving gloves and dream of BTCC races of the late 1970’s.
Dolomite Sprints are simply addictive and this is the best colour combination - we will be very sorry to hand the keys over to the lucky new owner…
