For Sale is this extremely rare Mike Hailwood Ducati Evoluzione. Originally a concept designed by Pierre Terblanche, Ducati's chief designer, the bike received such a positive response they decided to build a batch of just 1,000 bikes to be sold on the internet only on the turn of the new Millenium. All bikes sold out within hours and it was decided a further batch were to be produced totalling 2,000 worldwide. Production was slow with most bikes being delivered from 2001.
Our bike, numbered 1,571 of 2,000 was delivered in 2002 and is one of only 39 believed to have been officially delivered in the UK. It has had just one Ducati enthusiast owner from new and has covered less than 2,000 dry miles only.
Importantly and unusual, all relevant paperwork from Ducati has been retained along with spare keys and the commemorative plaque. There is also the unworn boxed Ducati T Shirt with the MHe logo and production number that was sent out as a thank you for all who ordered the MH900e. The complete tool kit and originally supplied paddock stand are also present.
Extras fitted to this bike include an expensive and rare Ducati Performance factory carbon bodykit manufactured by Carbon Dream, this includes the fuel tank shroud, headlamp fairing assembly, seat unit and front mudguard. This is further enhanced by Ducati Performance billet aluminium adjustable mirrors, aluminium indicator set, aluminium open clutch cover, clutch plate & springs, open timing belt covers and wire meshed air filters. A stainless steel "˜Staintune" exhaust has also been fitted with the correct Ducati Performance replacement ECU for use with open pipes & the performance air filter. A nice cherished registration number is also fitted to the bike.
Please Note - All the parts required to return the bike to original, including the red/white body parts are all boxed up with the bike.
The bike was serviced in August 2017 with the timing belts being replaced (Genuine Ducati Parts), fuel and oil filters with semi synthetic oil, new spark plugs and a pair of Varta sealed batteries - a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres have just been fitted, replacing the originals!
