This stunning MG TF sports car is finished in the rare and wonderfully vibrant Trophy Yellow, (Code FAR). The factory original paint finish is virtually flawless and entirely commensurate with the exceptionally low mileage covered by this cherished, garaged example. There is one miniscule ding to the drivers side, barely noticeable. The superb underside is beautifully clean with PDI marking still visible, and the original panels even display factory spot welds to the wheel arches. The factory optional durable woven acrylic fabric hood in Blue is in remarkable condition and the plastic rear screen is perfectly clear with a few markings. All trim sections are excellent and the manufacturer badges and Union Jack wing plates remain intact and bright. Originality seekers will be pleased to see the supplying dealer number plates and tax disc holder fitted as well as the factory sticker within the driver’s door aperture. A truly exceptional example of this increasingly collectable car.
The comfortable yet snug ‘Ash’ cockpit offers real sports car appeal with open top motoring delights. The Sebring cloth fluted seat facings with plain black bolsters, (Code PVD), are in perfect order, and the matching door cards and black carpeting, protected by tailored MG carpet mats are pristine. The over mats proudly display the MG logo. The flawless dashboard houses fully functioning switchgear, and the silver faced dials and chunky leather trimmed steering wheel emphasise the sports car appeal. A surprisingly large rear boot is pristine and the front compartment displays PDI dabs and all factory plates and stickers fully intact. A sports car interior in essentially as new condition.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original four cylinder 1796cc engine produces 136bhp at 6700rpm and 165Nm torque at 5000rpm enabling a top speed of 127mph and 0-60 in just 8.2 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration display all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driving enjoyment! The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package and actively encourages enthusiastic changes!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 15” square spoke alloy wheels are un-refurbished and as new with original MG badged centre caps. The front and rear tyres of size 185/55 R15 and 205/50 R15 respectively are matching Continental Premium Contact, and the spare wheel with original Goodyear GT3 tyre is unused with tyre sticker intact. The original jack and brace are stored in the leatherette bag. The braking system incorporates factory optional electronic anti-lock assistance and discs all round (ventilated front) to offer positive stopping power.
Supplied new by MG Rover Main Dealers, The Priory Motor Group on the 3rd August 2004, the car was initially registered to them as a dealership demonstrator before being sold to the first private keeper Mrs Rosemary Pearson. The Used Car Vehicle invoice within the history file confirms all the details of when the car was sold by The Priory Motor Group at nine months old. In 2011 MG Owners Club member, Mrs Maureen Wylie, became the second and only other keeper. Used as a dry weather weekend car by both custodians and kept garaged, this pampered example has covered an incredibly low 16,470 miles from new and is preserved in amazing order.
The original handbook and service book are present in the black leatherette MG wallet and there are nine documented service entries including a cambelt and water pump change in 2016 at 14,051 miles. A neatly organised history file contains all supporting service invoices and previous MOT certificates to further validate the genuine low mileage and fastidious upkeep. There are two original keys on matching yellow MG leather key fobs. The dealer branded key fobs are also included. An original MG TF brochure completes the impressive history file. A dedicated enthusiast club scene, coupled with excellent parts supply network and easy maintenance, make good examples a sheer joy to own. This pristine MG TF offers the complete package of a preserved, low mileage, low owner, well maintained and superb performing example, fast becoming a hugely desirable modern classic. It even comes with matching yellow sunglasses!
