1964 Orig. RHD, match. numbers, produced in first week Oct '64 For Sale

Carmen Red | Fixed Head Coup? | 4 Speed Manual | 4.2 litre | 30,818 miles showing | AU$255,995

There?s little to no contest over what is the greatest classic sports car ever made but which E-Type is the best at putting Spitfire DNA into the hands of the classic driver?

Answering exhaustive demand, Jaguar introduced a more refined yet more powerful 4.2 litre E-Type in October of 1964 to critical acclaim - not an easy thing to do after the successes of the earlier 3.8 litre.

Whilst still retaining its original and unrivalled aerodynamics, beautiful lines and sporting dimensions, disc brakes, and independent suspension at all four wheels the E-Type was famous for, maximum power was now reached at earlier rpm?s with real usable point and shoot torque.

Atop the increase in torque, the 4.2 litre also received a new fully synchro-mesh transmission, new vacuum boosters improving braking response whilst the interior was treated to new body moulded seating.

The result produced an uncompromising and more tractable/comfortable sportscar that matched Jaguars motto of grace, pace and space to a T that has today become the most desirable and collectable driver?s E-Type.

The car available is the perfect driver and investable asset, presented in the timeless colour combination of Carmen Red over black leather trim and arguably the most desirable E-Type ever made, this original right-hand drive and numbers matching car was originally delivered with Black paintwork over Black interior.

Manufactured on the 26th of October 1964 and sold new by Henly?s UK makes this Jaguar one of the first lot of Series One 4.2?s E-Types off the production line.

Subject of a sympathetic restoration completed by its owners in the early 1990?s, this E-Type has been under the same ownership for 30 years fastidiously cared for, maintained, driven and absolutely adored.

With receipts documenting an impressive maintenance history since its restoration including regular servicing and improvements as time passes by, it has also been subjected to a full mechanical overhaul to the engine by renowned Jaguar specialist only recently.

Very original inside and out this stunning Jaguar carries plenty of provenance throughout, kept in a dry country climate, its exterior bodywork presents overall in lovely condition, all body lines appear straight, chrome work unblemished and the paintwork carries a glass like finish.

The interior is highly original and has been well kept over the past 30 years since it?s restoration. The leather is unmarked, all the correct smith?s instrumentation, switchgear and the 3-spoke wooden-rimmed steering wheel is present.

This Jaguar is accompanied with its heritage certificate, extensive documented history of its restoration and maintenance performed over the past 3 decades and multiple Jaguar workshop manuals.

With so few right-hand drive Series one E-Type?s made in a right-hand drive configuration, this desirable coup? would make an excellent investment for the discerning collector.

Not just a collector?s item however, this Cat is the perfect weekend getaway car and a time machine that delivers that totally engaging mechanical driving experience modern day cars have abandoned. Still to this day considered the most beautiful car ever made, don?t miss this opportunity to own a part of Jaguar?s great history.
