This car was campaigned in the Porsche Club Championship in 2015 by Strasse driven by Hugo Holmes and was then bought by Robert Rawe to compete in the AMOC Intermarque Championship in 2016 and 2017.
This is an unintimidating car to drive for a novice yet has real performance potential in the hands of an experienced driver. There is room for further development particularly in weight reduction.
The car was built on a Porsche Motorsport shell and fully race prepared with welded cage, stripped out interior, plumbed in fire extinguisher system, electric cut out, remotely adjustable gas suspension etc. The car has been lightened with a fibreglass front end but retains the original - and heavy - rear tailgate so there is still development potential in the car. However even as it is its lap times are not a million miles off the very well driven (Guess and Hilliard) Intermarque Chamionship winning Porsche 968 - at Brands 56.2 versus 53.6 (pre engine rebuild) and at Silverstone 1.08 versus 1.06.
The car came with the Strasse black, yellow and red wrap (see photo) which was removed and all the damaged panels replaced before the car was resprayed in the correct blue at a cost of £4,600.
Other work included new fron discs, the fitting of a quick shift gear linkage, and a full engine rebuild in May 2017, coming to over £5,000.
Since the engine rebuild the car has done two races so barely run in.
The car comes with two sets of wheels, those on the car are part worn Toyos, with two brand new Toyos on spare rims. The other two wheels have scrappy slicks.
This a very clean and tidy car which cost £13,500 from Strasse in 2016 and has had over £10,000 spent on it since then so at £16,750 it is excellent value for money.
