Up for sale regretfully is my 1970 Karmann Ghia I have enjoyed owning/driving this Ghia but due to the fact of having to many car projects on the go and not enough space I have to sell this one.
A brief history of the car:
The KG was imported from Fremont in California in 1996 by the founder of the karmann Ghia club Uk.
Was then sold in 2002 to another VW enthusiast.
Then in 2011 my neighbour bought the car who is also a big VW Aircooled enthusiast, this was one of many of his many Aircooled cars and I finally persuaded him to sell it to me in 2016.
So the car has 4 owners including my self since it was imported in 1996.
Car has a 1.5 single port engine.
I have put together an a4 ring binder which is in laminated sheets and double sided full of receipts and servicing carried out backed with all old MOTs since 1996, this folder is 2 inches thick and all in date order.
Includes all the original import documentations and correspondence of the import.
I also have the original owners manual.
I have uploaded a video of the service history:-
- details above
Body work on the car is in good condition, The floor on the car is original and untouched with no signs of rust on the underside, the last MOT I had the tester commented that this was a very solid car underneath and had no advisories.
Only bit of rust is the top side of the drivers door but I will include a rust free door in the sale, also I have many extra parts to go with the car.
Mot expires on 18/April/2019
I have also uploaded a walk around video of the car :
- details above
The KG is on dropped spindles on the front.
I had fitted a set of 15” chrome OE wheels purchased from VW Heritage these are 4.5” wide on the fronts and 5.5” on the rears all wrapped in matching Nexun tyres this was in 2016. So the tyres have plenty of life on them still.
The car can be enjoyed as it is as I have done. Or if you wanted to a fresh paint job and new chrome to make it your own you can, either way it’s ready to be driven and enjoyed. It receives a lot of positive comments at the shows I have been to.
If the above links do not work you may need to copy and paste them into your browser
I am open to sensible offers (which means close to the asking price) by all means but also In no rush to sell.
No Part Exchanges or Swaps please.
The car is advertised elsewhere so maybe ended at anytime.
Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
