1969 Austin Healey Sprite MK IV in British Racing Green, last year of the 60's full width chrome bumpers styling (pre the 1970 'Leylandised' facelift). I bought the car in 2005 from Ken Archer, then the owner of a Honda motor dealership in Harlow who commissioned the restoration in 1991 by Mark Fish Motorsports (near Harlow, Essex), utilising a British Motor Heritage body shell. There are photographs taken during restoration, showing careful bodywork preparation before respray then afterwards during rebuild. All major original parts were retained - Engine & Carburettors, Gearbox, Differential, Dashboard and Clocks overhauled & refitted but all other parts replaced wherever necessary throughout vehicle including :- Fuel Tank & Fuel Pump, New Radiator, Steering & Suspension components, new Brake Calipers & Discs, Brake Drums and Pipes, new Wiring Loom fitted, Seats re trimmed & new Carpets and Seat Belts, new high quality Canvas hood and new fasteners used throughout restoration. The odometer was zero’d and now shows 6045 miles since the rebuild. The car has a Thatcham Category 1 'Toad' alarm and Immobiliser together with an RAC Trackstar Tracker unit fitted (now monitored by ‘Teletrac Navman’). In May/June 2005 I had hardened exhaust valve seats and a stainless Steel exhaust downpipe fitted by an AH Owners club specialist but throughout the rest of my ownership I have maintained and serviced the Sprite myself. I have in the main only used the car in the dry though have been caught out a few times in the rain. The condition of the car is A1 bordering concours condition throughout. The bodywork is absolutely straight and in excellent condition and is as clean underneath as it is on top though there is a very minor dink at the top of the bonnet where one of the battery terminals touched the underside of the bonnet because the wrong size battery was fitted before I bought car (slightly too tall). Though it is almost un noticeable I have made provision for this in the sale price if you want to repair but it's hardly noticeable. The car was originally fitted with steel wheels but at restoration a 'bolt on' wire wheel conversion was fitted to the original 'stud' wheel hubs. These are not ideal as they move the wheels and tyres closer to the inside of the rear wheel arch lip and under some extreme cornering when I first bought the car, I noticed there was some contact on the nearside rear left tyre. A remedy would be to fit standard wire wheel half shafts though since discovery I just chose to drive respectfully and there have been no further issues. The Sprite drives well and is 100 percent reliable for long journeys. It also has a very efficient heater. I drove up to London in March 2017 to see friends and to have an MOT, which it passed with no advisories. It never missed a beat there and back. It is now MOT exempt. I am sure you would very much enjoy owning and driving the Sprite as I have done across the years. I am only selling as I am planning to move abroad, otherwise I would keep the car.

The Austin-Healey Sprite was built in 4 series from 1958 to 1971. The first series was nicknamed "frogeye" because of its prominent headlights. In spite of its little BMC engine this light car is a spirited sportscar.
The car is in restored very good condition.
