1999 Alpina B3 3.3 42.7k miles- Immaculate For Sale
Number 236 of 591 produced, this 1999 Alpina B3 3.3 has done 42.7k miles and had two previous owners. The car has been based in Guernsey since new, but is now fully UK-registered, please see below for further detail on the Guernsey side of this car. To add to the comprehensive service history, the car was serviced in December, before being exported & passed its MOT in the UK on the 17th January 2019 with no advisories. As well as being sold with the MOT due 16/01/20, the car has been detailed inside & out. Inside, there is an aftermarket Kenwood head unit, which offers Bluetooth connectivity, front & rear USB & steering-wheel operated telephone functionality. The original BWM Business head unit is sold with the car. Additionally; full (Alpina-embossed & piped) grey leather interior, heated front seats, climate control, aircon, cruise control, fully-operational Bosch Switchtronic gearbox, Alpina-embossed Walnut dashboard & doors, electric sunroof, good tyres, new brake discs & pads, 18” freshly-refurbished Aplina alloys, two keys, parking sensors (front & rear), original Alpina manuals & toolkits etc. No expenses have been spared here.
Service history is included and has been typed-up to ensure good record-keeping, with references to all documentation provided. The car had been sitting in a garage for a period of time, so a service has not been completed every year, but the longest driving period without a full service (that was recorded) was only 11k miles. There were oil changes etc. in between this time, but these were not recorded. The original Sytner invoice and delivery confirmation document have been sourced.
A unique opportunity to buy a low mileage rust-free Alpina that was very well spec’d in 1999 and has been lovingly cared for since, with the service history to show this. This car can be stored for the weekends or driven every day- I would not be selling if I wasn’t developing a house! Viewings and general enquiries welcome.
The car is now UK-registered, but has been based in Guernsey since new, with only short trips over to France for holidays. The benefits of buying a Guernsey car include:
•The car has not been driven hard, with max speed limits of 25mph applying across most of Guernsey & 35mph only being permitted on certain open roads
•The roads in Guernsey are not salted- hence the lack of rust, which is quite incredible for this type of car of this age- the engine bay & underside of the car, as can be seen in the pictures, are uncharacteristically pristine, for this reason
•The car has been kept covered in the high parishes of the island, so is not exposed to salted air, or ever driven in salt water
•The V5 document produced by the UK DVLA aligns with the Crown Dependency DVLA so the history for the car & ownership history is clear
•Guernsey cars can suffer, if driven daily, due to the short stop/start journeys. However, this car has done, on average, 2.2k miles per year- it was driven around the coast road on a Sunday, not shunted back & forth into town. This car has never been a “daily driver,” as its condition suggests
I purchased the car to drive in Guernsey, but the speed limits and size of the vehicle just do not suit the roads & so I decided to keep my Volvo C30 T5, which I originally anticipated selling. Also, I am now buying a house, so the Volvo’s MPG is better suited to my monthly budget. This car needs to be driven, on bypasses & country roads in the UK/ on the continent. Perfect for track days & weekends away, this car shouldn’t be based on Guernsey & as such I exported the car to the UK. All relevant taxes and duties have been paid- as is required before getting the MOT & emissions test that then allows you to get the car registered in the UK.
In Guernsey, Fiat 500s attract a premium, Alpinas do not. Hence, here is the chance to buy a Guernsey Alpina in the UK, with the comfort of completed re-registration and the protection this gives you (MOT passed).
01/03/19 Additional point added- If you have tried to check the plate, please note that the new plate was only recently (22/02) confirmed by the DVLA, so only feeds through to certain reg-check sites (MOT check works fine, but others may take until circa10th March to feed through correctly).
31/03/19 Price reduced to meet previous offers in the middle. Get in touch with any offers/ further requests to view. Cheers
