1989 Austin Maestro 1.6 L Outstanding Condition - one of the best For Sale

We bought this lovely little car because our director's father had one in 1990 in the same colour an trim! So a trip down memory lane for a modest outlay and it has proved to be a very popular car. Whilst we drive all of our cars as much as possible it is this Austin that draws many smiles as back in the 80s and 90s there were thousands around and now they are very much a dying breed. This, in our opinion, is a modern classic. A warranted 46k on the clock and in truly stunning condition and ready to show this summer. There are less than 40 of these from this year in this spec on the road and less than 200 left according to the DVLA still on the road The Austin Maestro was the last British built car to carry the Austin badge and this must be amongst the best examples left. Registered in 1990 it has a complete service history and a clear mot with 3 previous owners. There are no rust issues which in itself is very rare for a Maestro as some went rotten within five years of being new! With a little bit more work could be a concourse entry - definitely an ordinary car from the 90s that due to its rarity and condition is now head turner and a great little car. It is a 1.6 L with the later series engine and vw 5 speed so drives very well and has seat belts all through so you can take the kids to the local car show - and probably win the rarest car there! The underneath and arches are as good as the top of the car and the interior is spotless. The roof lining has been glued up and sadly a few glue spots are showing but it does not have a saggy headlining which again most of these do. Under the bonnet is extremely clean as well. In summary this is a very rare example and even more so down to its history and condition. It is ready to enjoy and can be insured for around £80 a year. This will never go down in value and like many of the 80s cars we are seeing come to market this may well the time to snap up one of the last Maestros with low ownership and in excellent condition. Open to sensible offers and p/x.
