Confirmed by Fiat historic, this car is a matching number car. Built in 1968 and delivered to the Netherlands from new. The car was exported to the U.S dry state of California. In the early noughties the car came back to the Netherlands and was purchased by our customer over 13 years ago.
The bodywork is majorly rust free. All shut lines, panel gaps and paint finish is remarkably uniform. The car has been restored in the early 90s and has held up extremely well. The glass quality and chromes are excellent and the car is such a joy to behold. The early headlamps and rear end are remarkably Ferrari like and make the car an absolute joy to behold.
The interior is much of the same story. The original leather is in excellent condition, as is the original wooden dash. All controls and buttons work perfectly and the interior chromes are are in excellent condition. The upgraded Nardi steering wheel is a lovely touch and only adds to the occasion of driving this glorious Dino engined car.
Mechanically the car is as good as you would imagine. The engine has been fully rebuilt including forged pistons less that 10k miles ago. The dcnf Webber 40s are tuned beautifully and have been fully rebuilt. The car starts from hot and cold and has the added benefit of a 123 ignition system. Under acceleration the car performs really well and pulls very strongly. The 2.0 litre engine is very gutsy. Combined with low weight and 140 bhp this car drives amazingly well.
In conclusion, this is a superb car. A low mileage car that has been maintained regardless of cost. An excellent opportunity to acquire a super rare model with less that 200 remaining.
