Rare Fiat Osca 1600 S Cabriolet 1962 my 63 For Sale
Maserati engine - Simpatia Fiat
In the second half of the fifties the House of Turin decided to create, using the mechanics and the platform of the 1200 Transformable, a spyder with a more elegant and European taste.
The refined (and very classic) body designed by Pininfarina, gave life to the new car (launched in 1959), a true 2-seater spyder. At the end of the same year the version with 1.2-liter engine was flanked by the more powerful 1500 S Cabriolet, driven by an Oscan twin-shaft engine of 1491 cm³ derived directly from the Osca MT4 engine with 4 disc brakes. In 1962 the Fiat-Osca increases its displacement to 1568 cm³ and adopts a new double body carburettor with a new air filter that forces the bonnet to vary by placing a hump on the left side. This is the rarest series of Osca 1600 produced for only one year. Pleasant car to drive with the classic perforated gloves and extended hands. The Pininfarina line allowed her to successfully participate in Concorsi d'Eleganza like the one in Cortina d'Ampezzo. To recognize a Fiat OSCA, some details such as the Nardi steering wheel, the bonnet air intake, and a passenger footrest are important. But the most important thing is that the OSCA engine, produced by the Maserati brothers, which is entirely built in aluminum, as it was mounted on the powerful Maserati racing cars. This custom-built is still very sought after because very rare with constantly increasing values. The car is equipped with an ASI Certificate.
