1976 VAUXHALL CAVALIER MK1 EARLY STUNNING CAR. 43k MOT For Sale
A stunning rot free survivor, quite a rare survivor, though i cannot pin down numbers. howmanyleft do not divide the cavalier into 1 to 2 or 3 mk,s but list 120 L models of all three are road legal. I don,t suppose many are mk1,s and this one registered in June 76, eight months into production, could well be one of the oldest survivors.Pre 1.9 engines so the biggest available at the time. For a car that demand outstripped supply in it,s early years and another factory was added to meet demand very few survive. This stunning red, red interior car is very 70,s and still has factory spot welds around the rear arches, under the bonnet and everywhere you would expect to find them. In fact the only possible welded repair i can find is possibly the aerial hole as the aerial is tucked inside the rear wing. Having covered 43 odd thousand miles the car was tucked away for years and re commissioned about 2 years ago including a sympathetic re paint so as not to hide the original welds. There is no history to back up mileage but it looks genuine to me,Even the sun visors are still rigid with original foam, the whole interior is excellent. I cannot find any welding underneath either, that 2 has been re coated but not so heavy to hide original seams etc, This car is ready to show and serve it,s next owner for many years to come. Starts runs and drives and stops only as a low miles car can, it all feels tight with no untoward knocks rattles or whines. Any white marks you see in pictures are old wax in panel gaps, not yet had it,s deserved deep clean, it will also get new oil and coolant after it,s winter lay up.Though exempt it has a very recent mot and will be a turn key drive serviced car in a day or two. I am going to put a few miles on it to make sure.
