1990 Silver Spirit with Active Ride 76,350 miles For Sale
Thank you for looking at the sale for my Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit II – with Active Ride.
I have owned the car for two years.
Prior to my acquisition this car had been used sparingly by the previous owner over his ten years stewardship and has enjoyed a mere five previous owners (and two of those appear to be related) during what appears to be quite a cosseted lifetime. The last owner and I both were RREC members.
When I bought it, I decided to subject the car to a comprehensive mechanical overhaul by a highly respected Rolls-Royce specialist and work carried out included replacing the radiator, oil cooler, associated piping, suspension components, engine and gearbox mounts, brake components and a complete comprehensive service, all belts and all fluids included. Four brand new correct Avon Turbospeed whitewall tyres were fitted and the total cost of the re-commissioning was in excess of £6,000.00. All bills are retained on file for inspection. This was completed in March 2017 and the vehicle has covered over 2,700 trouble-free miles since.
It starts without hesitation and drives as one would expect, beautifully. It passed the latest MOT (March 2019) without any advisory notices.
The oil pressure is perfect and the coolant temperature remains constant, regardless of weather. The original Roll-Royce key and a spare in present, as is a mascot cover.
The car is beautifully finished in Midnight Blue with double fine pinstriping. The magnolia leather interior is clean, supple and smells like a Rolls-Royce should, with hand-dyed blue leather to the dashboard and rear parcel shelf. The lambswool over rugs and picnic tables and rear illuminated vanity mirrors complete the beautiful cabin. It retains the original footstools too. The ashtrays are unused. The veneers show no sign of age. The badge bar comes with the car, but the badges will be removed and retained by me as they were from my father’s car.
It will be sold with all handbooks; even the white gloves that accompany the complete tool kit are present, as is the LHM top-up bottle. The original delivery note is on the file, as is the Rolls-Royce testing cassette for the Blaupunkt quad stereo system. The radio cassette is the original with the amplifier in the boot and new speakers have been fitted to maximize the sound quality.
A full build history accompanies the car as do all of the receipts for recent expenditure. This car wants for nothing and will provide the next owner with confident motoring, not a sudden deluge of unexpected repair bills, which often happens with pre-owned cars of this vintage.
The bodywork is lovely, not absolutely perfect (but in fairness I’m not asking £25K) but useable without any hesitation. There are imperfections on the rear quarter bumper where it meets the main bumper and a small patch of repair on the nearside top of the wing, which I mention for transparency – see photographs. These issues do not detract from the overall and certainly do not merit replacing in my opinion, but I do not wish to hide anything.
This would make a lovely car for weddings (wonderful colour combination), a second car for weekends or classic car shows or as a confident daily driver.
Viewing by appointment please at vendor’s home near Newcastle upon Tyne – or on a ramp at the Rolls-Royce specialist who has looked after it (by appointment) and BACS payment or cash only please. I do have other classic cars so I regret that I will not be able to entertain a part exchange. I am not prepared sell the vehicle unseen. I will consider an offer, very close to the asking price, but only after the vehicle has been seen. I’m happy to facetime the car to save a travel.
It is priced to sell; it is a lovely car and admired wherever it goes. This is an absolutely genuine car and expected to appreciate in value as nice ones like this are increasingly rare to the market; please no dealers or canvassers .
