Citroen DS23 Injection Electronique with hydraulic (clutchless) gearbox otherwise known as semi automatic with Tabac leather seats and door trim, green tinted windows and metallic paint with contrasting burgundy roof.
Contoured fully adjustable tabac leather seats, heated rear window, self levelling and swivelling headlights, metallic paint and side protection strips. It is worth mentioning that the paintwork is in very good order with just a couple of bubbles along the bottom of the doors. The belly plate is not perfect but acceptable and there are two small cracks in the centre of the bonnet where , in my opinion, something other than the strut has been used to hold the bonnet open. The roof is in very good condition.
This left hand drive DS was first registered in June 1974 in Perpignan in the South of France and was originally owned by the owner of a vineyard in Tuchan in the Corbiere region.
Only 86,681 recorded miles from new and very well looked after by the second owner (who was also based in Perpignan). The car was his pride and joy and he maintained it fastidiously keeping the car for nearly 30 years. When he died the nephew inherited it and not wanting to keep it sold it to an architect in the UK who added it to his collection who then sold the car to me to free up space.
This is the fastest variant of the DS. It is beautiful, well maintained with a rust free chassis- a testimony to the fact that it has spent most of its life in the South of France and the time spent in the UK never being driven in the rain. It will be difficult to find a cleaner example.
After registering the car in the UK with its new number FRN 462M the former keeper immediately took it to model specialist Pallas Auto where is was serviced, fitted with a new steering rack and electronic ignition.
After I purchased the car I spent a further £10,000 on further mechanical works which included fitting a new clutch, new exhaust, new steering rack n( as the old one was leaking), recore of radiator, new timing chain, recon ECU, five new continental tyres and much much more.
My plan was to have the car fully serviced and tuned prior to sale after being garaged throughout the winter but found the earliest slot to be July interrupting my summer plans. So it is for sale with a small LHM leak from the rear nearside sphere and a small coolant drip from under the engine bay both evident AFTER the car has been running and when the engine has been stopped. Because of this an allowance can be offered against the asking price.
