Lovely 1975 VW Beetle. Now she’s over 40 years old she qualifies for MOT exemption. Fully restored back when the California look was sweeping the VW scene, loads of photos of the car back then are in the large file that comes with the car along with every single mot certificate, original handbooks bills receipts manuals etc (see photo) The car has always been garaged, it runs and drives, steers, brakes etc but has not been mot'd since 2004 when the previous owner emigrated to the States. The owners parents religiously started and moved the Beetle every 3 months during its lay up.
Despite the car showing 23,000 miles (I assume 123,000) the engine is a Vege 1600cc with less than 10k on it and sounds amazing. The front seats are aftermarket up graded very desirable Cobra. Rear seats are original vw black and grey. The beetle is manual...(4speed original vw gearbox with reverse)...the gearstick is an early Empi T shifter
The V5c logbook is In my name with all paperwork original vw glove box manual also the stamped history book which is rare to find, haynes style manual and previous bills and all mots as in photo. The stereo is a blaupunkt from the 1980s. The car was last driven on the open road around 15 years ago. The interior is in great condition, so is the bodywork, a few areas of minor paint here and there. The car runs and drives and stops. The spare wheel well is a touch rusted and there is rust underneath as far as I can see from the sills but I’ve not been underneath to see but just being honest, the car is 44 years old. Will make a lovely car. I am renovating a house and we’ve just been hit with some huge bills so sadly I won’t have the time or money to spend on beetle bug. I’ve priced the car exceptionally low in order to sell her, she needs some work and that’s reflected in the price.
