1955 Beautiful restored Austin Healey 100/4 BN1 For Sale
Austin Healey 100/4 BN1, April 20, 1955, color old Healey Blue with a dark blue leather interior. This Healey was delivered in the USA and remained there with its first owner: Donald Kirk, in Seal Beach, California until 1999. In 1999 the car went to its second owner in Twente. The Healey is still in the name of the second owner.
It is a Matching Numbers car where only the gearbox in the USA has been changed for the more reliable BN-2, 4-speed & overdrive gearbox. The Healey has been completely restored over a period of approximately 10 years. The chassis and the under body are zinc coated and the suspension is powder coated. The engine was upgraded by Dennis Welch to Fast Road specification with the aluminum head, larger valves and M-spec pistons. A CSI electronic ignition system has also been used. The dynamo has also been upgraded to its original housing.
Furthermore, a new mohair hood, side windows and a tonneau have been applied. Michelin tires of the XAS type came closest to the original tires of that time. Finally, I want to mention that the paint has a beautiful half-matt finish that resembles the original cellulose paint.
A very complete documentation with photos of the restoration is present.
A beautiful 100/4 in a beautiful condition.
