2000 Caterham 7 Roadsport 1600cc Autosport 50 Edition For Sale
Immaculate Car with just 550 miles from new! Finished in Ferrari Rosso Corsa, Factory built and based on the Roadsport model with a 137hp 1600 K-series engine, the car features a carbon dashboard with Autosport number plaque (8 of 9), digital Stack instrumentation, heated windscreen, 4 point harnesses, unmarked leather seats, FIA roll bar, weather equipment to include full roof (fitted just once), tonneau cover (never fitted), Alpine audio & speakers, 5 immaculate and unmarked 5 spoke alloy wheels and side exit exhaust system. This car also features a quick-release MOMO steering wheel making entry and exit more dignified.
Complete with full weather gear (incl. tonneau cover, side screens and hood bag) and all correspondence from the factory with the first owner in its history file, this is as close to a new Autosport 50 as you will get today, and its condition certainly defies its age. This actual car featured at the 2000 NEC motorshow on the showstand for Johnathan Palmer (barriered off so not “played” with!) documented within the factory correspondence along with original order invoices and build spec sheets. This car even still has the original tyres which are somehow still in great condition, i.e. not hard or cracked.
Just 9 Autosport 50 examples were built to commemorate 50 years of the publication, with this car being number 8. What makes it so unique, however, is the fact that it has covered just 550 dry miles from new, and is as fresh as the day it left the factory. Autosport cars carried the gold nose band, and usually their corresponding side stripes and number decals. However, these were requested by the car’s first owner to be left off, and the car looks all the better for it.
A stunning looking car but unfortunately a change in circumstances means it is no longer “practical” to keep…
