We bought this car last year from the Publicity Officer of the Standard Motor Club.
During his tenure, he fully rebuilt the engine, including new clutch, new distributor and new pistons, plus fitted an electric fuel pump, heavy duty radiator and uprated battery in order to be able to attend regular and frequent Club meetings and shows, and also carry out his charity work with the car without problems.
It has full weather equipment and I have during the winter fitted a Club stainless exhaust system, cleaned and resealed the fuel tank and overhauled the dynamo.
It has five excellent tyres.
It is most definitely not concours but has proved dependable over last summer attending local shows and drive outs on sunny days.
On hot days, the windscreen can be folded flat which is a lovely and relatively unusual feature and is only found on the pre-war models.
This is a very unusual car and always attracts interest at shows as Standards are much thinner on the ground than lots of other small pre-war tourers.
The previous owner advised that according to his research, there are only 18 of this model left.
