With only something like 400 examples left on the road, the MGC GT is fast becoming a reare British Sports car, only 9000 examples were produced between 1967 and 1969.The MGC was a simple concept.Take the highly successful MGB chassis and replace the 4 pot engine with a bigger 2912cc straight 6 and hey presto!! BMC had come up with a reasonably priced Grand Tourer. As the sale patter went at the time, a poor man's Aston or if it's good enough for Prince Charles it's good enough for you.
The exceptional example we offer here has only covered 3000 miles since a full comprehensive rebuild by world renown MG specialists Brown and Gammon. We have a full photographic record of the restoration in the car's history file. The history file also contains all paperwork from Brown and Gammon detailing all work carried out during the restoration. The work carried out included 2 new front wings, 2 new rear wheel arches, 2 new rear chassis legs, castle rails and inner sills repaired in part with new items, new rear wings, new floor pans, new fuel tank and new rear valance. There is even a bill in the history detailing 96 hours of work on the paintwork alone. The whole of the interior was retrimmed in black with matching leather seats with white piping. The MG was then treated to a new set of chrome wire wheels.
Judging by the contents of the history file the car appears to have had just 8 owners from new, there being an original green log book with car issued by Buckingham County council and dated 27th of February 1969. The file also contains all MOT s going back to 1990. Furthermore the car has just 2 owners since 1989. The photographic record of the rebuild amounts to over 100 photographs.
To summarize here is a car whose condition would be difficult to match and that has such a interesting history.Finished in arguably the best colour and is ready for immediate use. Ideal for long distance touring.
