A very good quality, well sorted and competitive car.
Professionally built 12 years ago using a brand new/old stock factory bodyshell. Please be aware, this was a factory original bodyshell, not a Heritage reproduction.
Built to a very high standard indeed, and has since proven to be very competitive having finished three times in the Spa Six hour race, placed well in all and the first MGB home in the most recent. The car has also raced at most all UK and many European circuits including at Le Mans.
Obviously a well known car for it's competition success, and more.
The current specification includes a fresh and recently rebuilt engine and precision flowed cylinder head by Ian Prior and Bob Luff.
It is the correct FIA aproved 1845cc capacity fitted Weber 48DCOE and special Maniflow tubular exhaust manifold. Dyno sheet provides evidence of an impressive 170bhp at 6,500 rpm.
Freshly rebuilt straight-cut close-ratio four synchro gearbox and 4.3 limited slip differential.
This car comes with spare parts including a second set of wheels and tyres, optional rate front and rear springs, spare uniquely calibrated distributor, spare specially developed and engineered half shaft, spare hub, disc and upright, brakes and more.
Basically you have here a car and spares package ready to race in a variety of events and race series.
Importantly, firstly this car is on the weight, in-fact slightly under weight.
The car has no rust and has never had any rust and has never been damaged and repaired.
The homologated weight of 830kg is achieved with ease.
Secondly the engine produces more power than most all other FIA MGB cars.
Therefore; a perfect balance of optimum power with minimum weight.
Some notes to consider . . . . . . . . . .
This car was built and has been maintained to win longer distance races.
Straight-cut close ratio gears and a high compression and very cammy engine.
It is not an easy car to drive and would probably suit a more experienced driver.
It is most certainly not a dual purpose race/road car. Please do not expect to race one day, and then go to the pub in it the next day.
This car was painted very nicely some years ago and has since raced many times.
It has never been crashed or seriously damaged.
The general appearance and paintwork looks nice, but is far from perfect.
Interested parties should be aware, the current specification of the car is not fully compliant with the specification as listed on the FIA HTP document (as is the case with most all other "FIA" MGB race cars)
Some parts including the larger-core aluminium radiator and the four sychro gearbox may require replacement for certain championships and/or series.
Price; £35,000 (UK Pounds)
This is a very realistic price for a top quality prepared and very competitive car.
Part Exchange possible.
But sorry, no near offers at this price thank you.
This car was built as a clone car to the works MGB race car BRX854B and even has a similar reg.no. It has had its own Fia papers and has raced extensively with some success. It is "on the button" ready.....
