Lotus twin-cam Big Valve engine
This car was previously owned by the man who was Lynx engines in Paignton, Devon. (he has now retired).
It is a quick car.
He completely stripped the car and rebuilt it to exacting mechanical standards.
The engine has been rebuilt, is powerful and has lots of low down torque.
The gearbox and differential were also rebuilt.
It has fitted: Stainless steel exhaust: Braided steel flexible brake & clutch lines: Revolution wheels: Roll Bar: Heater: Full tonneau cover: Lumenition: Roll over bar: Adjustable Spax Shock Absorbers: Original air filter box with new filter: Baffled sump:
Brand new soft-top which has never been fitted…needs fitting…I have never used it.
All 4 tyres (H rated) have 7mm tread depth.
Work carried out since I have owned this car (less than 1000 miles)
New steering rack
New spark plugs
New Magnecor 8.5mm ignition leads
New distributor cap & rotor arm
New k&N air filter
Cometic cam cover gasket from Burton’s
New wiper blades
New chrome wheel nuts
Started motor recently overhauled
New upgraded headlights and bulbs
LED sidelight and indicator bulbs….much brighter than standard bulbs, same fitting as original bulbs.
Recent oil changes: engine, gearbox & differential
Recent brake fluid change
Clutch slave cylinder overhauled & new fluid
Speedometer overhauled and calibrated by Speedograph
2 auxiliary sockets for charging mobile phones and using satnav
Wing mirrors attached to the sidescreens….Formula type from Merlin Motorsport
It has a non-standard steering wheel…but the original will be supplied with the car
It starts and runs beautifully.
The body is in need of a little tlc….
Also included in the sale, is:
1/....a spare bonnet, which needs considerable work, but as these are very rare second-hand, it will be a worthwhile project to restore.
2/….a hard-top and mould. These are for a wide-cockpit S4…..I was told that these were made for a New Zealand Lotus 7.
It would be quite easy for someone who is a capable fibreglass repairer to make the hardtop narrower to fit.
There are no fittings with this hardtop.
