This is a chance to own a solid classic beetle with the early sloping wings and long bonnet and rear deck.
In original condition, with only 2 previous owners.
We purchased the car which had had 80% of the works completed and we have completed the final details and replace the interior which was ripped (we still have the original seat covers).
The car was taken off the road in 1985 and was restored in 2014 by the previous owner to us. The body was stripped down to the chassis and all the welding completed, then a full glass our respray was completed and new wings beading etc to make a very presentable classic. The gearbox and engine were both rebuilt at the same time making this a sound investment.
We have replaced the seat covers and added a shelf with vintage 6V Roberts’s radio and portable cd play all wired off the cars 6V battery. We also fitted aircraft retractable front seat belts and fixed rear lap belts along with finishing various parts off on the suspension and engine tin ware/seals.
The flowers are self-adhesive and can be removed with a hair dryer if not to anyone’s liking.
The car has never had the suspension lowered or front beam narrowed and sits as it always has done as an original beetle.
The mileage is believed to be genuine with service book and MOTS as proof. The car drives and stops as it should and has five new tyre,s it had an MOT in 2017 with no advisories.
Beetle's in this condition with known history are very rare and being presenting in the Fontana Grey which again had a limited run in the earlier sloping wing cars.
The car is not to show winner standards but is more than just presentable and offers a sound chance of owning a very usable classic which will not require endless funds to keep in the current condition for many years to come.
The car comes with a bag full of history with old tax disc and other items found in the car when it was remove from its long rest.
