Lot 36 - A 1933 Coventry-Eagle J18, registration number XSY 390, frame number 70193, engine number CY 3339, red/black. Coventry-Eagle like a lot of other manufacturers started life as a maker of quality bicycles, in turn branching out into motorcycle production with a range of encompassing two strokes from a humble 98cc to the mighty Flying 8 1,000cc V-Twin, which was very much a direct competitor to the Brough Superior. This charming J18 has been restored to a high standard. Power is supplied by a Villiers twin port 150cc two stroke which drives through an Albion gearbox. The motorcycle features a pressed steel frame and has formed part of a small private collection. The motorcycle is offered for auction with a considerable history file containing ephemera and numerous receipts for restoration and maintenance. V5C, MOT and tax exempt
£3000-3500 + 13.2% buyer’s premium, with a minimum buyer’s premium of £96 (including 20% VAT)
