1963 TR4 RHD with Overdrive ORIGINAL UK Reg For Sale
1963 Triumph TR4. An original UK registered, right hand drive car, still with it's original reg number (which is transferable, and was valued at £2500 some 15years ago!)
It is a "Surrey top" convertible model, with a factory fitted overdrive, and has the rarer white dash.
I have owned this car for well over a decade and it was, believe it or not, in everyday use back in 2009.
Great fun to own and drive, proper "wind in the hair" classic motoring, and with an engine with great gob full's of torque!
Sadly now in need of restoration. So a rare opportunity to get your hands on an original RHD car, which although needs restoration is certainly not a basket case.
So... The main area which need attention are the floor pans, the drivers side is the worst effected, the engine bay and boot are surprisingly good with very little needing to be done.
The chassis seems to be pretty solid, but the out riggers will need to be looked at. The sills at the front are in need of repair/replacement but this goes along with the floor pans.
The passenger side front wing will need repair, or more likely replacement.
Very sadly the tip of the nose on the bonnet has corroded, approximately 5 inch long and 2/3inch wide will need some fabrication.
The engine was fully rebuilt in 2006 and hasn't had a huge amount of miles on it since then, with the carbs also being fully rebuilt by Burlen fuel systems - I have all of the receipts to prove this.
I'm not in a desperate hurry to sell, and I'm certainly not going to let it go for next to nothing but am open to sensible offers from sensible people who would genuinely like to take on this project!
