Again, this rather special Triumph has literally just arrived.
A regular customer of ours has had to make the difficult decision , due to space restrictions and old age, to downsize his classic car collection, and we’re delighted to have been asked to market his cars.
This particular Triumph Spitfire was restored around 12 years ago, and came into our clients possession a few years ago. Being very particular, he decided to commission a bare metal repaint, for no other reason than he wasn’t “quite” happy with the original paint. This process was photographed at every stage, and capped off with a top quality mohair hood. I guess that this is as close as you’ll get to a “rust free” Spitfire.
It has to be said that the original, ground up restoration was superb, with literally every aspect of the car, cosmetic, structural and mechanical being attended to. Engine and gearbox are the early 1200cc and non overdrive units, and deliver a reliable, smooth and sedate performance. The car has covered a mere 420 miles since the completion of all of the work. Obviously historic status, so MOT and road tax free.
We have dozens of detailed pictures of the car, so please just ask if you’d like to see any of hem, but this is one that really needs to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. With only 3 previous owners from new in over 50 years, this is one special Spitfire. On ramp viewing and test drives positively encouraged. As ever, we feel that the car is VERY realistically priced, with many examples of these Spitfires now achieving over £20k.
