Move to Japan in June forces sale
Owned since 2014 (Ive known the car since 2007) It has been a fantastic little car. Yes the body work isnt perfect but thats only because I really enjoy the authenticity of it age. It wears its battle scars with pride.
Mechanically its in excellent condition. A few parts have been replaced in my ownership but it has proven to be one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned in over 20 years of driving. It always starts, has never broken down and any jobs that needed doing were easy and cheap to fix.
I drive from london to swindon and back twice a month. The car is surprisingly fast and very capable of keeping up with modern cars on the motorway.
Slow heavy traffic, long journeys, cold, hot or very wet weather the polo beats it all. Incredible for a 35 year old car!
In my ownership the car has always been kept clean inside and out. Regularly polished after a wash even the engine bay gets wipe down.
All hinges, locks and electrical conections get spray oiled often and I only ever run my cars on the best grade fuels available. Shell V-Power usually

A few minor negatives to mention..
Car is a bit grumpy from a cold start but it wont cause you any real problems. As with any car especially vintage ones just treat it gently until its fully warmed up.
The drivers seat padding is a bit knackered so I have an extra cushion on the seat. Its fine.
No stereo fitted.
The custom made springs at the rear are too soft in my opinion. If the boot is loaded up or someone is in the back the car will squat right down.
The car gets lots of positive attention you will often have people asking about it when out and about in it!
