Long-term ownership of 20 years, in which just 20,000 miles have been covered and no expense has been spared. Over £10,000 has been spent in recent years to keep the car in first rate condition. Work includes a gearbox and brake overhaul, stainless steel exhaust and reupholstering of front and rear seats, involving new seat foams and bases but re-use of the original leather, which is nicely patinated but soft and supple. New tyres and battery and a recent MoT. There is a history file with invoices covering work back into the 1990s and every MoT certificate from 2000.
The structure is completely sound with no corrosion in the usual places. Paintwork - Silver Birch over Admiralty Blue - and chrome, including the Rostyle wheels, are very good. Complete with all its tools and the rare front and rear headrests. The car drives superbly and averaged 24 mpg on a recent 250-mile run. Oil pressure is good, and the car does not overheat even in heavy traffic.
I have wasted time going to see cars that turned out to be a disappointment and so have deliberately under-played mine: if you want a ‘sorted’, reliable 3½ Litre Coupe, you would struggle to find better.
