1987 Jaguar XJS V12 5.3 litre, Manual I am regrettably selling my XJS V12. This is a much admired car that receives a lot of positive comments. I have recently completed a 2000 mile round trip to the South of France; it was an absolute joy to drive over long distances.
With only 3 previous owners, mileage is recorded as 76,500 which appear to be genuine from the paper work I have with the car, including the original Bill of Sale, most MOT certificates are with the car. It has a fully stamped service record, car is going in for service with all fluid changes on 2nd September 2019, also new MOT will be issued. There is a folder full of paper work, service book and Owner’s Manual. The car was rebuilt 7 years ago with extensive work done to the bodywork; a photographic record comes with the car. It has new wings on front and quarter panel on the rear, jacking point’s strengthened, floor pans and new inner and outer sills, TWR body kit fitted, the car then had a bare metal respray, twin headlamps fitted to finish off the appearance. The complete car has been waxoiled underneath including in all the cavities.
Front and rear sub frames have been removed, shot blasted and painted, all suspension joints are polybushed, springs replaced and new shocks all round. Rear diff has been rebuilt with all new Timken bearings and the LSD reset, new seals fitted. Steering rack was rebuilt with new bushes and seals. The wheels have been replaced with those from a Jaguar XJS Le Mans, they have been refurbished with diamond turned rims and gold centre lattice. These are 16"x8" giving a slightly wider profile. New P7's on the front and P6000 on the rear with a good tread all round.
Gearbox has been converted to manual with a 5 speed Getrag 265 gearbox; this combined with a 2.88 differential makes it an ideal cruising car; at 2000rpm speed is 78mph. This aids fuel consumption with an average of 25mpg on my journey through France. Engine is original, but with the manual gearbox fitted I have had the ECU re programmed by AJ6 Engineering, larger throttle bodies fitted together with AJ6 filters the AJ6 exhaust has the centre boxes removed, giving a nice sound without being intrusive. All fan belts have been replaced last August.
Interior has new headlining, new over mats on floor embroidered with Jaguar XJS V12. Steering wheel fitted is a smaller diameter ‘Italovolante’ in two tone leather. The air conditioning has had a complete overhaul with a new 'Fenair' air conditioning compressor, hoses, condenser and radiator have been fitted, this has recently been re-gassed and fully tested by Jaguar XJS specialists KWE;
Service completed 4th September 2019 with all the fluids changed.
MOT test is valid till September 2020
This is a beautiful car that is much admired wherever it goes; these cars are fast appreciating and you will struggle to find an XJS this good.
First Japan registration on the 01/10/89.
Then it was imported and cleared through customs in Germany and imported in Italy in 2011.
