TRIUMPH SPITFIRE MK2. OLDER RESTORATION. LOOKS AND DRIVES FANTASTIC.
This is a Triumph Spitfire Mk2. The Mk2 was made for only 2 years (Dec 64- Jan 67) and is the rarest of all the spitfires. This car is registered in 1970 although it is not clear why. The engine has been updated to the 1500 engine from the later Spitfire and it gives it a good turn of speed. It has good paint and chrome and an excellent black interior with white piping on the seats. It has inertia reel seat belts fitted and a nice Kenwood CD/Radio stereo with a Mountney steering wheel. The hood is new and there is a white tonneau. These are stored in the boot with the hood frame, tools, old hood, spares, spare wheel etc. Mechanically all is in good shape with electronic ignition fitted to the engine which has had a recent service & tune and twin exhausts. The wheels carry a lovely set of full width wheel trims and a set of new tyres. The car is tax and MOT exempt. There are 13 old MOT's in the file showing 11 pass's without any advisories and 2 with just washers, horn and a bearing advised. No corrosion mention anywhere and none found. The car has been used regularly by the last owner for show etc. Mk2's can now command prices over £20k which makes this one a real bargain.
