This is a really lovely old XJ6 . It's a Series 1 SWB 4.2 automatic from 1972, just before they started making V12s.
This car is in good condition probably partly due to it spending most of it's life in South Africa. The car has been restored in the past before coming to the UK and looks beautiful and very striking in it's Jaguar Light Blue colour scheme - a rare colour for an XJ6 in this country and much more late 60's/ early 70's than the darker and more sombre shades used on later series cars.
The interior is in light blue and dark wood and has survived very well. The paintwork is generally good as in the pictures, but is an older restoration. Underneath is really solid and not the usual patchwork quilt.
The car starts easily, pulls well and is generally a very pleasant thing to cruise along in. Nearly everything works ( the clock doesn't and the radio is rubbish ) and it's had a fair bit of work recently to make it reliable including both tanks removed and cleaned, recon steering rack, suspension bushes etc.
In short it's a nice Series 1 in a cool colour that you can drive away and use now.
This is arguably the finest example of this UK built short wheel base ,manual 4.2 with overdrive 56500 miles it spent it's life in locked up garage This car was completely
overhauled from bare metal.....
