Now sold 29th April......
This two tone later Series 3 Riley in lovely Florentine and Bermuda blue has been rebuilt. Only 78300 miles.
It has an early transferable number plate that was put on from central London many years ago and stays with the car.
Just finished completing details and servicing after it was mostly restored by previous owner over last few years. He completely removed mechanics and engine and gearbox so he could restore and repaint the bodywork. Reassembled with new brake system, fuel system, suspension parts, overhauled engine cylinder head.
Original radio still works fine. The original leather interior in great condition. Wood is original, headlining a couple of small nicks, new carpet through out. Some spares in boot. All dials and gauges look like new and all work. Vacuum operated screen wash works very well and is clever. So its now very reliable as its like new mechanically. Underneath is painted in silver grey Hammerite paint for preservation. He fitted GRP front wings so it has no corrosion traps in the future.
Its ideal for classic road rallies and long distance trips as it has no issues. It now has Accuspark electronic ignition and brand new Varta battery with battery cut off switch for security. Just serviced with fresh Millers 20 50 engine oil and filter, brake fluid, clutch fluid changed, twin SU carbs set up and balanced, grease nipples done, new screen rubber. I give the paint around 8 out 10. The chrome is original so it varies. Stainless silencer.
It drives very well and keeps up with traffic on A roads. Its the 1500 cc and excellent short shift synchro gearbox. Folder full of paperwork and owners manual and old MOTs etc. The MOT is through to April 2020. All locks and ignition with same original key. Mileage seems genuine. Priced for quick sale.
The Riley 9 was a middle class car which Riley launched in 1926 with the first model being the Riley 9 Monaco. We understand this Riley 9 to be carrying a ‘special’ bodywork with close similarities to the Brooklands Model with the chassis number indicating it was built as a Riley 9 Monaco Saloon. .....
In our Thursday June 8th Auction
First registered 9th May 1930, the Riley was purchased by the late owner in 1959. HJ 9902 had by then been turned into a Special, and restoration started on returning the car back to a 'proper' Riley. A tourer body was purchased, from what appears to have been a Mk .....

Although the V5c states that this is a 1932 car, the chassis number indicates it is actually an early 1934 model.
Little is known of its early history, but the car spent time in London and North Wales, in the hands of various enthusiastic owners, until acquired in .....
Recently completed and now wonderful to drive. The Riley has a rebuilt Merlin 9 engine and ENV preselector gearbox. The brakes are actually quite good for a 9, stopping the car quickly with no fuss. Overhauled chassis and running gear. The bodywork is aluminium over a steel frame, and the tail section .....
